Nanhai Rescue Bureau of the Ministry of Transport (hereinafter called “NRB”) is a national organization of utility service directly governed by the Ministry. As the sole professional maritime rescue organization for the South China Sea, NRB is shouldered with the honorable responsibility and holy obligations for life saving, property rescue, environment protection and other contingent actions against disasters. In order to meet the requirement of the safety for the construction and development of the national integrated transport system and to adapt ourselves for actions for the national security and response to terrorism as well as to accommodate ourselves to carry out rescue and relief work against severe accidents and natural disasters, research and practice have been made to form our unique philosophy of “Saving Life at Holy Mission”, connoting brave, scientific and safe rescue operations. This philosophy will be enriched and developed constantly according to our practical work. Today, the philosophy of “Saving Life at Holy Mission”, is deeply rooted in the mind of our staff members. “All distress assisted; all assistance succeeded” is therefore originated and has become the motive for the rescuers to perform their obligations, ignoring their own danger from the violent sea.
With the concern from the Ministry of Transport and leadership of CRS, NRB will adhere to the Thought of Scientific Development and will make our best effort to build a capable and efficient emergency response team of the country in accordance with CRS’s development ideology of “One Enhancement, Three Adaptation”, realizing the philosophy of “Saving Life at Holy Mission”, to ensure the safety of people and properties as well as the local economic and social development.
